The Cure for Hot Tub Rash
What’s in your hot tub swimming around? You think it’s hot tub bacteria you suffer from? Have you considered the chemical skin interaction? The water rash you get from your hot tub swim is called folliculitis. Folliculitis in your hot tub is more often caused by Bromine chemicals and other spa conditioner chemicals in your water that irritate your skin, causing the eczema rash. It’s rarely hot tub bacteria alone that cause hot tub pseudomonas or other bacteria rash. It’s the chemicals attacking your skin! Normally our bodies protect us from the hot tub bacteria that’s in every hot tub swimming around, but Chlorine, Biguanide and Bromine chemicals destroy this natural protection. Without this protection the harsh chemicals, salts and bacteria get into your skins pores and follicles. Your body reacts by sending white blood cells to surround/encase the foreign compound/intruder and increasing blood flow to the area, causing the rash and inflammation. To prevent folliculitis from your hot tub you need to get rid of the chemicals that break down your skin’s natural defenses and get rid of the harsh spa conditioner chemicals and salts that get into your open, exposed pores and hair follicles. Get rid of these irritants and get into natural, clean, healthy water – the kind you find in nature. If you are concerned that your hot tub has harmful bacteria, such as pseudomonas or staph, a good UV Ozone Generator is the best defense against unwanted hot tub bacteria and virus, and also helps break down spa conditioner chemicals for better hot tub swimming, less chemical skin irritation and clearer water. Chlorine, Bromine and Biguanide are classified as pesticides and highly regulated for good reason.
Quit killing your skin, your hair follicles, your mucous membranes, your eyes and ears and your fatty acids and you quit killing yourself! Enjoy soft, clean, healthy water with Clarity Water’s Natural Spa and say goodbye to the irritation, the skin rashes, the coughing, the burning. You know your water is safe because it stays clear and odor free.
Ozonators only work for 3 to 4 years. After that the gas in the bulb breaks down and even though the light still shines brightly it is no longer at the right wavelength to produce ozone – it is just a light. Our experience with chip CD ozonators is that they rarely work after just a few months – the moisture in the air corrodes the electrode on the chip and it stops working. Call us for a new or replacement ozonator if your spa is ozone ready. We sell only the best, and we’ve tried them all! If your spa doesn’t have an ozonator you can use non-chlorine shock as needed – it does the same thing, is compatible with our formula, and is totally safe!

1) The Innate Immune System: Our innate immune system is the first line of defense against invading germs and is with us at birth. The innate immune system is also referred to as the non-specific immune system because it is not specific to the disease. Rather, it responds to all foreign material in a similar way. It also does not have “memory”, meaning we may get the same infection over again. This system acts quickly in response to germ invasion, but without the production of antibodies. Antibodies are proteins produced by the body in response to the presence of a disease causing germ or toxin.
This is how our bodies normally protect us from bacteria:
The normal Flora in our bodies can produce substances toxic to germs as well as consume the food that germs need for growth.
2) In 2006 Dr. Rita B. Moyes, a microbiologist at Texas A & M University, tested 43 water samples from both private and public whirlpool bathtubs (hot tubs). "Every tub tested had some kind of microbial growth," she told Reuters Health. Moyes explained that a teaspoon of normal tap water contains about 138 bacteria (many samples are bacteria-free). A teaspoon of whirlpool tub water, on the other hand, contains an average of more than 2 million bacteria. Did all the people that used these hot tubs get folliculitis? Of course not – no such problems were reported.
3) Bromine and ozone turn into Bromate; a carcinogen that in your spa may be as much as five hundred times the maximum legal limit set by the EPA. Bromine attacks your mucous membranes. That’s why you’re told not to put your head under water. The Bromine is literally burning away your body’s protection. Women commonly get vaginitis from water treated with Bromine and anybody can get folliculitis, a rash caused by inflamed hair follicles. Bromine attacks your nervous system if swallowed or inhaled. It’s a strong pesticide that burns your skin and breaks down your body’s natural defenses, but you can’t feel it hurting you because it deadens your senses!
4) Chlorine is much stronger than bromine and burns your lungs, irritates your eyes and dries your skin. You know when you have Chlorine in your water because you can feel it. It smells bad, bleaches out your hair, your swimsuit and most plastics. Chlorine destroys plants, animals and most metals. Chlorine byproducts are classified as cancer suspect agents by the EPA. Our Government has begun taking steps to eliminate the use of Chlorine in water treatment. Much of the public drinking water in Southern California is now being treated primarily with Ozone, greatly reducing the need for Chlorine.
5) Biguanide (BaquaSpa®, Leisure Time® Free, SoftSwim®, Revacil®); Poly-Hexa-Methylene-Biguanide): This product creates an odorless gas that robs you of oxygen; making it difficult to breathe and making you cough. The biguanide also coats the inside of your spa and clogs the filter. You need to check and add special chemicals every few days to keep the water balanced. Incompatible with other spa conditioners. And still you must drain the spa every three months.
6) The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced in a December 8 2009 news release (more information: http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/health/worker-rsk-assmnt.html ) that the agency is planning to strengthen its assessment of pesticide health risks, including exposure through drinking water and in swimming pools.
